About This Program

As Community Action Agency staff members, we know that the work we are doing to assist families in rising out of poverty will affect their overall well-being. The words "anti-poverty" can be stigmatizing or polarizing to some people, however. When we refer to the this work as addressing Health-Related Social Needs (HRSNs), we are talking about the same work, but the language is accepted more. It also opens additional revenue sources to support the work.

The modules in this program will explain Health-Related Social Needs and Social Determinants of Health; the basics of Medicaid and Medicare funding; and how to start the contracting process. Each module can stand-alone, or they can be taken as a series. If you are enrolled in this program, you will receive an email when new modules are added.
